‘Pirates 5’ answers the question: Do dead men tell tales?

Apologies to my regular readers as I’m a few days late on this, but as I’m sure you’ve all heard by now, Disney has released it’s first trailer for Pirate’s of the Caribbean V: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The first new Pirates movie in six years. Man, it’s been a while.

It’s a cool, atmospheric trailer that’s pretty reminiscent of Pirates II and III (I honestly don’t remember IV and that’s probably for the best). We don’t get a glimpse of Jack Sparrow in it, but we do meet his new nemesis Captain Salazar, a man who looks like he’s seen better days.

Find Sparrow for me, and relay him a message from Capitan Salazar. And tell him: Death will come straight for him.

I love that the ghost crew all show signs of how they died. Very Stardust and I approve. Also amusing to see sites call the POTC franchise “dark.” I guess that’s what they’re going for on some levels, though it’s not at all the tone the first movie had.

But seriously, Jack. Do you have to keep pissing off undead pirate crews? When will he learn?
